God has done amazing and confusing things in my life that I will be grateful for forever. When I was saved in 2008, I didn't know much about Christ other than that He died for me. At that point in my life, the weight of that was never really felt. God has brought me out of many hurts and tribulations in my life. When I was 4 years old, my parents divorced and I found myself virtually fatherless. Growing up, I never thought it really affected me until I realized I craved the gratification of a male figure. When I was 5 years old, I was sexually abused for two years. The effects of this were felt more than a decade later. When I was 10 years old, I became involved in a local ministry that my family attended. For several years, I helped spread the gospel of Jesus Christ in low-income communities with Sidewalk Sunday School in Zion, Illinois. This period of my life was a learning experience; overall, I was closer to God than ever. That changed at age 15 when the desires of the world overturned my desire to remain in the Church.
