    Let us continue to examine Ireson's literature. Since pedagogy is a very generic term, it has some key elements listed here by Ireson et al (2000): i) Clear objectives ii) Inspiring with high expectations and able to provide motivation iii) Technically appropriate and appropriate to its objective and, iv) Theoretically sophisticated. Referring to these strands, Ireson et al (2000) strongly argue that there are no clear objectives in our educational structure at all levels, from preschool to university. The best we have is what was explained in the Education Reform Act (DES, 1988). More broadly, the objective is to “promote the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of students”. She argues that mass opinion is divided on whether the focus should be on individual academic achievement or on the development of society. It calls for careful reflection and informed debate in order to establish clear and common educational objectives.
