SymptomsBorderline personality disorder (BD) hinders personal safety, makes interpersonal and interpersonal relationships difficult, worsens the life of the person suffering from the disorder and those around them, affects affect and self-image, and generally makes a person even more unstable (Davidon et al., 2007). This disorder is a personality disorder that affects emotions, personality, and daily life, including relationships with others and job stability. People with BPD may experience a variety of symptoms, including: intense conflicting emotions involving sadness, anger and anxiety, feelings of emptiness, loneliness and isolation (Biskin & Paris, 2012 ). This disorder makes it difficult for the affected person to maintain relationships, because they tendentiously believe that people are strictly good or evil. Additionally, they are sensitive to the actions and words of others and are all over the place with their emotions, so those in their lives never know which side to expect. (Biskin & Paris, 2012) Symptoms include metacognition which causes various other clinical problems. These include non-integration between states of mind, a loss of differentiation, and emotional dysregulation. People with borderline personality disorder have chaotic, dysregulated, and unintegrated states of mind. Transitions between these states of mind are rapid and dramatic (Davidon et al., 2007). These affect other aspects of people's lives. In most cases, borderline personality disorder develops with comorbidity. Often people cope or self-medicate with alcohol, drugs, and food. Eating disorders, alcoholism, and other similar mental health problems develop alongside BPD...... middle of paper ......atment. Psychotherapy for personality disorders.
