  • Essay / Ecclesiastes - 1896

Ecclesiastes, unlike Acts, Romans or Hebrews, does not appear to directly speak and discuss the subject of faith. The writer shares his own life and his quest for satisfaction and happiness through his own means. In all the things in which he tried to find happiness, he only discovered that everything apart from God was meaningless and in vain. When he accepted the fact that God has a plan that he is working out in the author's life and all he has to do is let it work, only then -there that he was able to find true satisfaction and true happiness. He then calls on readers not to follow the same foolish path as he did, but rather to seek God first and reap the benefits of faith in God. The author of Ecclesiastes is known only as Qohelet, which is the Hebrew word. meaning Teacher, but it is not clear who the author was. This book is traditionally believed to have been written by King Solomon. It is believed to have been written later in his life, based on some of the book's contents. Solomon was considered the wisest man who ever lived. He valued knowledge and the acquisition of wisdom. He received wisdom as a gift from God and continued his quest for knowledge throughout his life. In Ecclesiastes 1:13 and 14, the author says: “I have devoted myself to the study and exploration by wisdom of all things under heaven. What a heavy burden God has placed on men! I have seen everything that is done under the sun. ; all this is nonsense, a chasing after the sun." He also says in 2:13 and 14 that "I have seen that wisdom is better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness..
