I have no interest in Bigfoot, but an episode of How I Met Your Mother was on TV and a character on the show was describing why he believed in Bigfoot while I was scrolling through the headlines and saw this article. It was written by Joe Nickell in the September/October 2014 issue of Skeptical Inquirer. The purpose of his article was to analyze previous reports of a bigfoot sighting in the area surrounding Mount Rainier, Washington. Nickell also traveled to the area to see if he could record a sighting as well. In his account of past Bigfoot sightings, he objectively examines the sightings and recounts them without bias. He then briefly tells us about his own trip, to try to see Bigfoot. He was led by guide Diann Sheldon on his trip to the Mount Reiner area, and she took him to the reported sites with the most Bigfoot sightings. Nickell interviewed several park rangers and volunteers and chose to tell us what a volunteer named Hollinger saw. Hollinger had said that during the previous summer she had seen a bear standing on its hind legs and she understood how some people could mistake a bear for Bigfoot.
