Essay / The Caucasian Chalk Circle - 1337
There were many different options to choose from for this essay, and I chose to attend the play, The Caucasian Chalk Circle. It was a great experience to have seen a play like this. There are many different aspects of a piece that must work together to have a successful overall perspective. Here are some major aspects that contribute to the overall outlook: the quality of the acting, whether the plot is enjoyable, how the characters present themselves, and how the lighting fits the mood. To begin with, I feel like the quality of the actors plays a major role in the overall look of a play. . I attended the majority of plays performed at my high school and always found the actors mediocre. When I decided to go see the Caucasian Chalk Circle play, I expected the acting to be a step up from high school acting, but that's not what I expected. I didn't expect was to be blown away by the way the actors sold their character's role. The actors caught my attention as if I was under a spell. You could see the passion in their eyes and even in their voices. They had to be able to tell a joke and make me laugh hysterically, and then the next moment I was in complete silence because of how bad a scene was. One of the antagonists was an enemy soldier who had to be able to joke around at one moment and then the next moment had you shaking in your seat because of his loud, obnoxious voice. It's the kind of acting that makes the audience want to keep going and wonder what's going to happen next. Being able to attract the audience using this type of game is an art. It was like they never skipped a beat, or even hesitated about what they were going to say. They were still in control of what they represented. They used vulgar language...... middle of paper......because of the way they display the environment. Without the costume and lighting work, the play would not have been as enjoyable as it was. In conclusion, I feel like I had a pleasant artistic experience. There were many different factors that brought the play together, but I think the most important were the quality of the acting, how flowing and enjoyable the plot was, how well the costumes fit the characters and the way the lights were displayed. with the atmosphere. I highly recommend attending the play The Caucasian Chalk Circle if you want an enjoyable artistic experience.Works CitedJ. N. Smith. "The Characters of the Caucasian Chalk Circle".
