The technological innovation I will discuss and try to evaluate the effectiveness and effects of “Google Glasses” in today's society. I chose Google Glasses as one of Google's latest innovations that was unlike anything we'd seen before. They had created a portable head-mounted display with the combination of glass frames that holds it all together. It was developed by Google with the aim of making a mass market ubiquitous computer. Ubiquitous computing is an advanced computing concept in which computing is expected to appear everywhere and anywhere. Unlike desktop computing which is the dominant form today, ubiquitous computing can happen using any device, anywhere and in any format. It was with this goal in mind that they achieved their goals. Google Glasses are glasses designed to display real-time information directly in front of the user's field of vision. It is created by Google X, Google's secret laboratory. The information is displayed on a small screen placed just above the right lens of the glasses. With the help of the glasses, users can use them to gather useful information about places and even people. Wearers are able to control the glasses through a combination of head movements and the use of voice commands. The introduction of smart glasses will likely have both a positive and negative effect on society. On the positive side, glasses users will be able to collect information where and when it is needed, especially when they cannot use their hands. This adds another convenience factor that has never been like before middle of paper......a decrease in gaps in relationships as well as a decrease in communication skills due to dependency in usage of this device. Wearing Google Glasses can be dangerous in certain situations where full attention is required, such as driving or operating a car or machinery. Having experienced these things, inattention can lead to an increase in accidents, injuries and even loss of life. Maybe Google Glass was just a first step towards something much bigger, but it's certainly not something that should be overlooked. Even if Google Glasses doesn't succeed for the average consumer, it will be a necessary step toward something that will. Overall, Google Glasses has its ups and downs, but with its potential possibilities for an ultimately better life far outweighing any possible negative effects it may produce..
