Architectural maps involve determining how well a system is structured and how elements identify and interact with each other, how information is communicated, and how well the components of a system can develop in an interdependent manner (Bocij et al, 2006). Rainer and Casey (2010, p.11) also add that "an organization's information technology architecture is a high-level map or plan of an organization's information assets, it is both a guide for current operations and a template for future decisions. » is a tool to examine the overall position of the organization's current technological system and develop a vision towards where the organization wants or needs to move in the future (Bocij et al, 2008). Architecture can be very beneficial to an organization for information purposes as Morville and Rosenfeld (2006, p.89) state that “an architectural map is used to catalog, understand, organize and navigate the information resource” . The map defines what information is available and, to a large extent, what is not. The map may involve an explanation of why certain information is needed or not, what value the information adds, its user, and how it is used (Evernden, 2003). Developing a systems architecture involves determining high-level structures to understand specific types of systems, their subsystems, and how they work with related systems (Bocij et al, 2008). An architecture is not only a model for designing a system, but also a basis for designing a range of systems over time, as well as for analyzing and comparing those systems as a whole. By illuminating the shared components of various systems at the right level, the architecture map promotes the design and implementation of compositions and subsystems that are middle of paper......cloud computing is a good medium for recording important rather than physical information and allows for additional space in the architecture for other elements, as well as micro-housing to save space (Bodart and Evrard, 2012). Additionally, for the organization to improve environmental sustainability, it should focus more on product longevity, including scalability and modularity. For example, manufacturing a new PC has a larger environmental footprint than producing a new ram to upgrade the existing PC (Hilty, 2008). The organization should focus more on using eco-friendly materials or recyclable materials to avoid environmentally harmful disposal and dumping. Additionally, an organization must follow the various standards for the development of appropriate architecture, for example, the British Standards (Chaffey, 2005). These are also tools that can improve the architecture as shown in the figures below,
