As a predominantly conservative nation, it is ideal that we, as a group, do not redefine the term marriage in the United States Constitution. It's not a question of equality, simply because men and women will never be equal: both parties have different complex qualities, whether it's their hormones, their genitals, their their brain functioning or their overall genetic makeup. Homosexuality affects approximately 5% of the population, meaning that the majority would be forced to conform to the minority. It is imperative that we recognize the consequences of same-sex marriage, including: health risks, redefinition of sexual morality, reduction in population, many people being spiritually affected and forcing the government to change laws to accommodate the minority. First, gender and race. are completely different. One could argue that the same principle should be applied between interracial couples, which would be an invalid argument. While race is defined by culture, gender is defined by sex. People see this as an argument because of the relationship of inequality between the two parties and how black people were once unequal in the eyes of America. It is important to assume an individual's gender because it is an important factor in a relationship. Two people who do not have the same genitalia cannot experience their full potential, while race does not take this factor into account. You could compare this to giving someone a gift that someone already has: the gift loses its value (John-Mark Miravalle). “Racial discrimination was ultimately deemed irrational because a person's physical appearance has no relationship to their behavior and moral character.
