The behaviorist theory is a theory of psychology that appeared at the beginning of the 20th century and which was a response to a certain number of predictions concerning observable behavior. The majority of theory was concerned with the behavior of animals and humans, observable physical behavior, not unobservable events. Psychologists believe that as learners we start with a blank slate and that our behavior is shaped by the environment in which we were brought and raised. Therefore, our behavior is shaped by the positive and negative factors we create while growing up in our environment. Our observable behavior is linked to our thinking and the emotions we release. Psychologists have studied that there is little recorded difference between the thoughts and emotions that occur in the human mind and in animals. An individual does not have free will and their environment determines the type of behavior they adopt. The environment in which everyone lives teaches how individuals behave.
