    The Effect of Mnemonic Technique, Narrative Story Method on Memory Recall Mnemonic devices are techniques used to improve memory. These techniques are frequently used to memorize lists of words. The most common mnemonics are the keyword method, the locus method, the keyword system, acronyms and acrostics. Each mnemonic serves a different purpose, some mnemonics work better than others for certain tasks. Some are also better than others at efficiently encoding information into long-term memory (Sternberg, 2009). Mnemonic techniques have been successful in improving memorization among younger and older generations of people (Wood and Pratt, 1987). Mnemonics have been successful in helping students learn statistics and memorize material (Stalder and Olson, 2013, Larwin, Larwin, and Gorman, 2012).
