Essay / Persuasive Essay on Dream Cars - 844
Imagine the ultimate dream car. Is this a brand new Mustang straight from the showroom? Maybe it's an SUV with heated leather seats. Or it could be by something fast and imported, like a Ferrari, Lamborghini or Porsche. For some people, dream cars come not from the present or the future, but from the past. But getting the dream car of the past is not always easy. Most of the time it rusts in an old barn or a field where weeds are growing through the floorboards. When someone finds their dream car in these conditions, they can do different things and make it a rat rod. A rat rod is where the exterior of the car is left rusted and in the shape it was found in, and has a big powerful engine and a good solid transmission. Or the other choice is to restore the car to its former glory. When someone restores a car to its former glory, they must follow four main categories or steps: body, paint, interior, and engine/transmission. The first step in body work is to disassemble the car so that it is easier to get rid of all the dents, paint and rust. Then remove the entire interior and remove the mirrors, hood, fenders and any additional parts that will make removing the paint easier. Paint stripping methods generally fall into two main categories: abrasive and chemical. In abrasive paint striping, there is sandblasting and good old-fashioned sanding. How sandblasting works involves blasting small particles of various abrasive substances onto an object at an extremely high speed to remove paint and rust from a vehicle. There are many materials used to blow up cars, such as walnut shells, plastic beads, baking soda, and different types of sand. D...... middle of paper ......does have less power. If the original transmission is used, it should also be checked and cleaned. If someone doesn't want to take the time to take the engine apart and clean every little part, then try to remember where every little part went, simply replacing the engine and transmission might be the solution. There are pros and cons to purchasing a new engine and transmission. An advantage of buying them new is that they contain all new parts and are less likely to break and may take less time than taking the engine apart. The downside is that it can cost more than just using the old motor. By completing these steps, a rusty old car can become the ultimate dream car. Whether it's transformed into a rat rod or a restored classic car, it's worth the hard work to get the ultimate dream car..
