    Engaging in peaceful and violent interactions, and the conflicts that arise from them, have changed significantly in the modern world. With tremendous advancements in technology, our ability to communicate over long distances with various multimedia devices has improved our ability to conduct peaceful conversations. This in itself lessens the chance of violence, as all party members involved in any conflict can contact and correspond with each other, if they wish, without jumping the gun and heading straight for it. towards a violent solution. However, weapons technology develops simultaneously with modern technology, giving rise to extreme weapons of mass destruction such as nuclear weapons, and the fact that these weapons are so easily accessible allows for violent interactions. The paradigms of “conflict resolution” and “non-violence” have failed to keep up with the development of modern technology and are therefore not applicable in some cases. While the “conflict resolution” paradigm remains applicable to most situations, the “non-violence” paradigm becomes obsolete when it comes to the nuclear weapons that play such an important role in modern conflicts. Nevertheless, both paradigms are useful tools in international peacemaking – methods such as negotiation of the “conflict resolution” paradigm are independent of the type of conflict involved. Likewise, the paradigm of “Non-violence” includes methods, for example the creation of pacifist movements, which are applicable to all conflicts, whatever their nature.
