Technology has shaped America in many ways, from the development of complex computer systems accessible to ordinary people to the ability to track weather patterns across the globe . Without technology, we certainly would not be where we are today as a high-tech society. Much of this technology comes from World War II. During the Second World War, the atomic bomb took hold, making it the most technological weapon in history. Radar equipment was also produced, as well as medicines to prevent disease, nutrition research, high-powered jet engines to power aircraft, and the V-1 and V-2 rockets. Thanks to all this technology, World War II was known as the first high-tech war. The Manhattan Project was launched by the United States with the aim of creating the first atomic bomb.
