Technology is one of the most impressive and incredible phenomena in life. The main reason being the shockingly high degree to which our society uses technology in our daily lives. It occupies all areas, affecting people both positively and negatively. There are many different forms of technology, but the two most commonly used are cell phones and the internet/computers in general. Today's young generation has grown up alongside technological development. These days, children learn to use computers and cell phones at an early age, whether through their own technological possessions, those of a friend or their parents. They grow up knowing how easily accessible technology is and the many ways it can be used. This article will largely focus on the effects of technology on the younger generation, as it is in your childhood that these effects have the greatest impact. I am very sensitive to the subject because I am part of the young generation. In addition to major effects on study and communication skills, media also has effects on adolescents' self-esteem and mental health. Perhaps more importantly, there is a growing problem of excessive and unnecessary consumption around the world. Over time, our society has created a very unhealthy form of dependence on technology as a whole. People essentially live through their devices. Cell phones are always within reach, making it almost impossible to not be able to reach someone at any time, day or night. In 2011, 2.4 trillion text messages were sent and 28,641 cell towers were added in the United States. 1 We use our phones and the Internet for directions, communication, information, self-diagnosis, games, movies, music, homework, work, photos, shopping...... middle of paper ......Print.
