Essay / St. Albans Sanitarium Ghost Review
Come with me as I take you to one of the most little-known haunted locations in the United States today. It is a journey through dark corridors and rooms painted with both light and shadow, where spirits speak and ghosts walk. Albans Sanitarium is a destination known by serious paranormal investigators as a place where they can seek answers to the mysteries of what lies beyond death. Some of these investigators were able to find the solution to a number of these age-old riddles themselves through their experiences at the sanitarium. The chilling, true stories found within the pages of this book involve these curious investigators' encounters with the Ghosts of St. Albans Sanitarium. Additionally, Shelli Sprouse Meade explores the history of the sanitarium in the book's first chapter, This burst of energy was okay. At that moment, at 2:01 a.m., I pressed the shutter button on my camera and took the photo on the previous page. Did my flash bounce off some rapidly growing ectoplasm (which ghosts are supposed to be made of)? Who knows, but I shared this photo for your consideration. There are several other stories I want to share with you, but I will do so in Chapter 12, It's All in the Photographs: The Ghostwriters. My daughters Stephanie and Megan, Ken O'Keefe, Scarlett McGrady, Leigh Schillings Edwards, Jon Matney and I make up the key members of this team of paranormal investigators. Pamela Wilson Berry is an auxiliary member. During a photoshoot on November 1, 2014, in St. Albans, I took a series of photographs of what appeared to be a white mist (ectoplasm) as it expanded into a humanoid form. I also share these photos with you in this chapter. Our encounters with the gruesome and glorious ghosts of St. Albans are fairly typical of the experiences of other paranormal investigation teams you'll read about in The Ghosts of St. Albans.
