We spend countless dollars to take care of these people while they are in prison. Our taxes go to feed them, clothe them and meet their medical needs. I would like the police to create a program that will allow drug dealers to work during the day and use the money earned to pay restitution, court costs, and child support if they have children. When these dealers are incarcerated, the children receive no child support. By creating a work program that could train drug dealers for jobs they could take after they get out of prison. This type of program could help small towns with limited budgets and high drug arrests. The work program would require participants to earn a GED if they do not have a high school diploma and to complete training at various entry levels.
