The human population has continued to grow over the decades. The growing number of people who have become marginalized in the global population has become a major problem. The consequences of global overpopulation have many effects, including: environmental effects, depletion of natural resources, economic effects, food and water instability, and mass extinction of species. Without a solution to the increasing human population, by 2020, 8 billion people will live on earth and by 2050, 9 billion people will inhabit the planet. Such an increase will result in an extremely significant use of the planet's resources. This outcome could lead to massive destruction for humans, animals and the planet. With solutions to ever-increasing population, reducing our population to a sustainable level will ensure that all species that inhabit planet Earth have a chance to survive. Solutions to maintaining the world population will reduce overpopulation and human poverty. “Solutions to support population growth include: education that warns people of the effects of overpopulation, family planning, sex education and health care. These things will allow people to recognize the effects of overpopulation and hopefully encourage global stability. » (Kulkarni) The effects of overpopulation on the environment cause big problems for the earth and the atmosphere. Larger agricultural practices are used, as well as large quantities of fertilizers. The fertilizer is then dumped into rivers and streams and flows into the Gulf of Mexico. Fertilizers dumped into the Gulf have killed life. These places are called dead zones. Fishing has also increased due to massive population growth.
