  • Essay / A Comparison of the Marines and the Marine Corps

Simon Sinek also said that successful organizations surround themselves with people who believe in what the organizations believe. Once again we examine the similarities between his ideas and concepts and those of the Marines. A clear example of this concept is used by the Marines in their recruiting efforts. If you look at Marine recruitment ads on television, the majority of ads do not contain words. The only message the ad conveys is that we are Marines and we are great, do you want to be one? Such a message tells a young man or woman that to be part of this organization, you must believe what we believe. The most surprising thing is that once this young person joins the organization, he believes that trust emerges within the organization. Confidence is knowing that we can take a risk and that someone will watch our back, a trait everyone would want to adopt.
