  • Essay / Stand at the Crossroads of Ministry led by Deborah Lamb...

In the community, there are many groups making an impact in the Aiken area. One that has made a significant difference is Stand at the Crossroad Ministries. The Stand at the Crossroads ministry is led by Deborah Lamb, who is willing to accept people from all backgrounds despite their backgrounds. Through her background, sacrifice and service, Deborah Lamb has become an asset to the community. Stand at the Crossroads is a Christian organization created to help, encourage and support women on their journey to recovery. The people served by Deborah Lamb face challenges ranging from uncertain futures to destructive lifestyles. Deborah Lamb can relate to the young women and ladies who enter the Stand at the Crossroads ministry. Ms Lamb said: “I have walked the same roads as many women, so I can encourage them. I can share with them that not only will they one day stand on their own two feet, but they will be able to encourage and help others.” Deborah Lamb said: “I had a desire to help women because of the difficult times I went through as a young woman raising four children alone. Without God and the people at my church coming along to help me, I don’t know where I would be today.” Lamb began ministering to women years ago by hosting Bible studies in her home. Deborah shared: “In 2000, my father gave me a big old Victorian house and told me I could do whatever I wanted with it.” So Ms. Lamb decided to open a shelter for women in crisis who needed a place to live, or to work on their recovery from addiction. As with any ministry, it takes someone who is selfless and willing to make the sacrifices that must be made daily like Ms. Lamb does. For example, she left middle of paper......amb to step out in faith and provide help to single women and mothers trying to get back on their feet. Deborah Lamb has made a difference in our community for fourteen years through Stand at the Crossroads Ministries. I have found Debora Lamb to be very loving and helpful to anyone who crosses her path and needs any type of help, whether it be emotional or physical needs. Deborah Lamb said, “In my fourteen years of ministry, I have seen successes and people returning to their old lifestyle.” She tries to be optimistic about the people leaving Stand at the Cross Roads Ministry. Deborah is always there for them even though they no longer live at the ministry. Meeting Ms. Lamb gave me a wonderful opportunity to see someone reach out to people in need and show them that there are kind people in this world..
