Media bias affects most of our decisions, especially when it comes to gun control. While it is easy for media critics to point out inaccuracies in individual reporting, it is difficult to prove more systematic bias. Perhaps a program like CBS's "The Guns of Autumn" was biased. But one could argue that CBS' coverage of animal rights activists is just as distorted as that of hunters. Media bias and propaganda are clearly detectable by those who are highly educated and mentally aware of the media's influence among us, but for the most part, media bias plays a significant role in our daily life decisions. In many cases, both pro-control and anti-control surveys were clearly visible. The Caddell study was conducted by Cambridge Survey Reports, a liberal polling institution run by Pat Caddell. The survey was sponsored by the Center for the Study and Prevention of Handgun Violence, a forerunner of America's leading anti-gun lobby, Handgun Control. The survey was used by his anti-gun supporters to support their arguments regarding gun control. The Center released its findings on the 10th anniversary of Robert Kennedy's assassination. On the other hand, parts of the study involved marketing research for anti-gun media campaigns, such as testing which gun control spokesperson would be most effective. “The conservative majority overturned laws in Washington, DC and Chicago that effectively banned civilian ownership. handguns “Gun control and the constitution” (Barret). Additionally, the pro-gun polls were conducted by Decision-Making Information, a conservative poll......in the middle of the paper......the press treated the two stories very differently. In general, a close analysis of media coverage of both polls indicates that many members of the American print media are biased in favor of gun control, so much so that they distorted articles about the polls public opinion on gun control attitudes, the next logical step is to determine the media's motivations. have been criticized for its biased coverage of the public opinion poll.
