Someone doesn't even have to use their voice or physical body to hurt someone, but can simply send a short text. It only takes a simple text, email, call or message to potentially cause someone to have low self-esteem, self-harm or even suicide and since almost everyone has a cell phone or an electronic device, anyone could be targeted. Accessibility to cyber bully is so easy for everyone. The final reason why cyberbullying is so different from traditional bullying is that cyberbullying is much more damaging. It’s safe to say that words are powerful, regardless of the context. However, being told a cruel word in person is one thing, but being said a cruel word over the mighty Internet is another.
