I believe it is important and sometimes necessary to question and subvert the traditional lifestyles by which we all live; however, social norms are not inherently harmful or enslaving. The reason we don't act weird in stores is because store owners fear shoplifting. In order to preserve their stock and, by extension, their livelihoods, managers must monitor customers and ensure that they do not cause them any harm. Now that I have been the subject of this suspicion, I understand and appreciate more the
