Essay / Essay on Media The Fourth Branch - 779
Scholars have described the media as the fourth branch of government. There are three, namely the judicial power, the legislative power and the executive power. Scholars would say that the media constitutes a fourth branch because of the influence it exerts on politics and government. Others will say that it is far from a fourth branch because it actually has no domain, but what can be agreed is that it is very influential. Not only does it tell us about what is happening in the United States, but also about all aspects of the situation. Some scholars would object to accusations that the media does not constitute a fourth branch. They would say that it is a fourth branch in the sense that it has controls over each branch and each branch has a control over it. The media influences people's opinions on every topic it discusses. If the President of the United States (executive branch) said something in his State of the Union address, the media could either agree or disagree. If the media agreed, then they could be a big help in getting people to accept it. If the media disagreed with what the president was saying, it could influence the public to be either against the president or against what is being proposed. The executive, which also has very influential power, could challenge the media and highlight them. The media controls both the judiciary and the legislative branch by highlighting those who represent these branches. This could then influence what the public thinks of those who make and judge the law. These two branches exercise control over the media, they cannot silence them but they can become technical. Dive deeper into the law on what is allowed and what is not. Because the media has become so powerful... middle of paper ......ch right now because of the president's new advances today. They have more power and, thanks to the media, they can very easily influence public opinion. The executive branch is not only composed of the president, but also the vice president, the cabin and the agencies. All of these parties have influence that affects the United States. Due to the development of the United States and the symbol the president has become for America, the president has become a trusted member of the government. Not being like a monarch with a king that America was trying to get away from. Since the president became more and more preemptive of what America stood for and the elected leaders were also for it, they gave more power to this position. It is very easy to see that the executive power is now the most powerful power..
