    Vincent had a hereditary disease, Vincent's parents wanted to conceive another child named Anton, which is what the parents wanted. Vincent wasn't perfect in his father's eyes, so they didn't want to give him his father's name. Parents conceived a child they wanted, so Anton received his father's name. Even though Vincent wasn't considered better than Anton, Vincent was still better in reality even with a heart condition. Gattaca discriminated against men with hereditary diseases. These were the men who worked as janitors in Gattaca. Detectives found a hair particle that was not registered to Gattaca. While trying to determine who killed the mission director, the detectives went out of Gattaca looking for the wrong lives to blame, something called bias. In the movie, when the detective saw the real Jerome Morrow who had an accident that put him in a wheelchair which is perfect, the detective discriminated against him because he was disabled. The difference in the film is that women were treated better than men. Irene was exempted from many things. Irene had more privileges than the janitors, even though she had a bad heart, she was still in a higher position than Vincent who had concealed his true identity by pretending to be Jerome Morrow. In the film, Irene said that the reason she was excused from her heart problem was because she
