The purpose of this interview is to explore social service professionals in their work environment and to observe social service professionals in their particular context, what type of training is required for the position of their choice. . The human services profession serves a variety of populations; it's a wide range of people. Social service professionals serve populations such as high-risk mothers who may have deficiencies in education, psychosocial support, nutrition, and little or no transportation. Another problem is the homeless population, who lack housing because they cannot afford it or maintain safe and adequate housing. Older adults are a growing population, their needs range from chronic illness, lack of or lack of education, mental and financial problems, loss of autonomy and stereotypes. They serve those who diagnose chronic illness, these illnesses can be diagnoses of high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, there are also the chronically mentally ill who are considered high risk, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder). . These are just some of the services a social services professional may work with. Meridian Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. is a “private, nonprofit organization that has a long history of providing community-based and largely publicly funded behavioral health services. Their mission is to promote recovery and provide solutions for people facing mental illnesses, addictions and other social challenges.
