    Ethical dilemmas are presented to people almost every day. Ethics is the discipline of dealing with right and wrong as well as duty and moral obligation (Unknown, 2011). When an ethical decision arises, it often happens that we cannot choose between a black or white area. Usually, an ethical question falls into a gray area where what one person considers right may be what another person considers wrong. In this gray area, one must reach a conclusion using various additional sources. These sources may include: justice or equity; autonomy, freedom to choose; beneficence, the prevention or elimination of evil or the achievement or promotion of good; non-benefit, do no harm; veracity, telling the truth, and last but not least, their morals and values, or their beliefs that guide their good or bad behavior. In the case study that will be discussed throughout this essay, a nurse worked for a two-physician practice. The doctors decided to end their working relationship and the nurse was given the task of photocopying the records of the moving doctor. In order to carry out her mission, the nurse decided to come one Saturday, when the office was closed, with her children aged eleven and thirteen, to assist her. One of the doctors also said he would pay the children for their help in photocopying the records. When the second doctor arrived at the office and saw what was happening, he stopped the children from photocopying the records. He then contacted the nursing commission and filed a complaint for violation of patient medical confidentiality against the office nurse.
