    Globalization has brought about a change in the world. Our country, China, has been radically transformed by globalization. Our people moved to the cities and our industry boomed. We have seen tremendous technological advancements as well as improved education. Despite the fact that China has changed so much, many problems still plague it. China faces serious environmental concerns. New diseases and viruses that do not originate in China can cause a wide range of illnesses in the new region. Despite some improvements in China resulting from globalization, the disadvantages that globalization has brought to China are more than the advantages. The Chinese economy is a very important indicator of its role in globalization. “In 2010, China became the world's largest exporter” (CIA World Factbook). Without China, many countries, such as the United States of America, would be deprived of billions of goods imported from China each year. The influx of companies moving production to China has allowed people to flock to cities and find work. China's economy has grown exponentially over the past few decades. Over the past three years, China's economy has grown by nearly ten percent annually. Despite this influx of money into China, it has also brought many drawbacks. For example, China's environment has been wiped out. China burns more coal than all the countries in the world combined. Beijing has been so polluted that there are businesses selling cans of fresh air to people, and gas masks are commonplace. On January 12, 2013, air pollution in Beijing reached a record high of 775 ppm. To put this into perspective, the measuring scale for pollution is 0 to 500 ppm. This set a historic record.
